A Message from the International Peace Arch Association

OUR COMMITMENT TO OUR HATB PARTICIPANTS | April 2020

At the International Peace Arch Association, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our Hands Across the Border family, our volunteers, and our worldwide community. We want to thank so many of you who registered early this year. It is an honor and a privilege to work with all of you. Please read this entire newsletter.

Since mid-February, we have monitored the COVID-19 situation daily and had planned to move forward with HATB if our government officials determined it was safe to do so. At this point, because of the Pandemic, we must CANCEL the 2020 Hands Across the Border Celebration and process registration and event T-shirt refunds. For those of you who have paid registrations, REFUND information is located at the bottom of this message.

We may not be able to gather in person this year, but with the amazing technology of today, we can celebrate together online. We can all dress up in our best U.S/ Canada gear and enjoy being friends and our fellowship as we sing our anthems together. You can sign up for our FREE online event to get event updates and information. After the event, you will get a certificate of participation you can personalize by email. Follow the registration link below.

AMERICANS & CANADIANS COMMITMENT TO EACH OTHER

These are uncharted waters for all of us. We are confident that we will overcome this difficult time like our forefathers who built the Peace Arch. They survived the devastation of WW1 and the Spanish Flu Pandemic which followed the end of that horrific war. In 1920, they came together to finish creating their Peace Arch.

As we walk in our forefathers' footsteps towards the 100th anniversary of the monument in 2021, we must remember that, like them, we will come out of this as better people. Next year at HATB we will Celebrate and Commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Peace Arch and 100 years of scouts and youth gathering at the Arch the name of peace.

With that being said, we are honored and privileged to invite all of you to attend the
Hands Across the Border Celebration on Sunday, June 13th, 2021.
EARLY BIRD Registration will open on January 1st, 2021.

We need your continued support for the Hands Across the Border Celebration!

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT

The International Peace Arch Association needs your support. The annual Hands Across the Border Celebration provided the association with vital funding that supported us during the six months a year we spend planning the annual celebration but also helped us spread the inspirational message of the Peace Arch and its founders year-round. Please consider making a donation to support our ongoing mission.
